Largest of the Paris mega clubs…

La Loco, the largest Paris night club is an old theatre that was remodeled into a 3-level super dance club in 1986. La Locomotive started in 1960 as a modest little club in the basement, booking –then- new talent like The Beatles and The Kinks.

Its current incarnation, a 2500 square meter mammoth is a true dance temple that has featured international star DJ’s such as Carl Cox, Cassius, Bob Sinclar, etc… I often get the feeling that this Paris night club in a club-crazy land like Ibiza, Spain for example, would be an absolute monster!

The Montmartre area location of La Loco ensures one thing: It’s always a favorite among the many international visitors exploring the sites. Other factors work in favor of this Paris nightlife staple. It is definitely very spacious and offers variety with a combination of Pop, House, Rock and top hits. You choose depending on the room you prefer.

The basement emits a terrific vibe, while the main floor features a large stage, state of the art sound and light systems including lasers and other visuals. The upper 3rd floor bar often plays a hodge-podge blend of music to delight locals and visitors alike.

If you’re going to be in Paris for several days and dancing is on your agenda, weekend nights at La Loco are a safe bet. Week nights often schedule live concerts. It wouldn’t hurt to check the upcoming schedule for a glimpse of the frequent special events (laloco.com).

The door staff is generally not as demanding as some trendy Paris night clubs when it comes to appearance and dress code. But you have to at least look like you belong in a dance club. Enough said!

Cover charge is under 20€ but can run higher for special events. It often comes with a free drink (boisson or conso or consommation comprise means drink included).
