Croque Madame or Croque Monsieur?

Croque Monsieur:
This is a classic French snack which predates the cheeseburger invasion. It is essentially a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, but very flavorful with the added butter (I prefer salted butter). This traditional snack continues to be super popular in France to this day. Ingredients for 4:

8 slices of bread
4 slices of ham
4 slices of cheese
Butter

Put a slice of ham and a slice of cheese between 2 nicely buttered slices of bread. Place in preheated oven for 10 minutes to toast the bread and melt the cheese. That’s it!! Can’t get any easier than this, and it’s so good!

Croque Madame:
This is basically the same as a Croque Monsieur, except you add fried eggs.

Ingredients for 4:

8 slices of bread
4 slices of ham
4 slices of cheese
Butter
eggs
